Climate Change History

In 2008 Governor Jim Gibbons received the final report of the Climate Change Advisory Committee, established a year earlier.  The plan heavily focuses on greenhouse gas reduction with some mention of water resource protection planning.  Wetlands are not mentioned in the plan.

Current & Future Action

NHP is reviewing Nevada’s wildlife action plan on species by species basis to determine their vulnerability to climate change based on the Climate Change Vulnerability Index.

Pilot Programs/Current Studies

The state does not, as yet, have any specific pilots or case studies dealing with wetlands and climate change.
